Happy Birthday America!!

It's been a long time since I've blogged about anything and I thought today was a special day to write a little something and share some photos. Scott has been gone for three months and I have a great bunch of photos to share on his adventures. These photos sum up what Pacific Partnership is all about. Humanitarian and civil aid to people in need. I am so proud of all our military men and women who serve and sacrifice so much to do their jobs around the world. This Pacific Partnership mission shows that war is not the only thing our military is a part of.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!

Bye, bye baby......

Well today was the day.  After a very stressfull week of changing departure days, this morning at 7 am was when the USS Cleveland finally set sail.  I definitely had mixed emotions as I watched the boat pull out of the harbor.  I know they are going to have a great experience and change lives but man, watching that crusty pile of tin pull out with my love on board was for sure hard!  I was so shocked to get my first at sea call today too! Definitely didn't think that would happen so soon!  I love you babes, and have a great time!!

Its getting closer....

AAaahhhhh, We just found out yesterday that the ship is going to be here on Monday, which means by Wednesday morning they could be leaving! Ok, I'm starting to freak out a little!  I thought we had till next Saturday but as military life goes, you just never know the real plans or dates until.....the last minute.
Oh well, one last weekend together so we'll make it a good one.  Hopefully it doesn't rain like it has been!  My next post will probably be pics of the ship and the guys leaving....Boo!  At least I have a butt load of family coming over this summer to keep me busy and make it go by faster.

Our Kauai Adventure

This lovely spring break we were able to go on a quick island hop over to Kauai for a few days.  I have to say it was the most beautiful place I have ever been! Yes, I know we live on Oahu which is also beautiful BUT it doesn't compare to Kauai in the least.  Besides the beautiful sights,  we found some great little hole in the wall places to eat.... such as the famous Puka dog, Yum!  The people were so friendly too, much different than Oahu!
I hope we get a chance to come back someday!

My Husband is getting ready for PP 11! (Pacific Partnership 2011)

We are getting ready for my husband to go on a four month adventure this summer.  He will be aboard the USS Cleveland, going to some amazing places such as Tonga, Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste.  This is truly going to be a life changing experience for he and the rest of the crew! I'm so excited for him! For more info on the trip and mission, check out this link...... USS Cleveland Conducting Pre-deployment Exercises

Pro Bowl: Hang Ten performs

Last night down town Waikiki hosted the Pro Bowl block party. It was crazy crowded!! My hubby and the Pacific Fleet rock band performed to a huge crowd........FINALLY!! They are all an extremely talented bunch and did amazing! I think they will do a great job out on the deployment.

Here's a little snip of one song they performed last night. (Please excuse the shaky videographer...me)

Update: Our Nephew

Sorry peeps, I was a little mistaken....David did get 2nd place in the qualifying round but then placed 7th in the final round.  News just broke that the men's superpipe is going to become a winter Olympic sport! So that being said.....watch out for David, no doubt he would make it on our Olympic team!
That is pretty darn cool!  Keep up the great work  David Wise!!
